The White Ribbon Alliance- West Bengal (Quality of Care)
As a District Partner of The White Ribbon Alliance –West Bengal, Nari Mukti Mahila Samity (NMMS) commenced the work on Safe Motherhood issue since 2009 in Dakshin Dinajpur District. NMMS has been continuing various programmes on Safe Motherhood issue. Subsequently The White Ribbon Alliance- West Bengal run the project-‘Quality of Care’ in the district and NMMS completed the programme within April, 2019 which was commenced on 1st August 2015.
We are proud to say that one of the citizen reporters named Santana Murmu (ST) and her team of Sarala village of Kushmandi Block raise their voice to prevent early marriage and other issues for safe motherhood at their areas. As a result, her voice reached to UN and she was called to attend to the 70th UN General Assembly in USA and she attended there for promoting her said voice. We think that it is a great achievement of our country on that issue.
Recently, NMMS organized Youth BOL Campaign among the age group (10-24 Years) to collect their opinion on various issues in their Physical/mental health and well-being. NMMS collected more than 3200 opinions from the said age groups with block level NGO partners
